Harrow High School Student Wins Top Prize from Cambridge University
‘Christ’s College GCSE Prize 2016’
Bidoor Alzaidy completed her thirteen GCSE’s at Harrow High School during the academic year 2015-16, achieving ten A* grades and one A grade. “I’m so pleased with my grades, I can’t quite believe I did as well as I did! Working hard was so important and the teachers helped me to focus with all their input.”
Her excellent performance has not gone unnoticed and in October she was entered into Cambridge University’s Prestigious ‘Christ’s College GCSE Award for high achieving learners in Harrow and Southwark’ by Mr S. Wahid, Harrow High School’s Gifted & Talented Co-Ordinator. “I realised Bidoor had a real chance of winning this prestigious prize, due to her tremendous results and it just goes to show how hard work and determination really pays-off” commented Mr Wahid.
This Prize draw had over 150 entries from Harrow and Southwark though Bidoor was the only candidate who had achieved an A grade or above in all thirteen subjects she entered.
Bidoor was invited to Cambridge to receive her prize from the admissions tutor of Christ’s College, Dr Emily Tomlinson. After the ceremony, Bidoor dined with Dr Tomlinson who congratulated her on her excellent academic achievement, whilst also providing her with tips on how to apply to Cambridge University. Bidoor also got to speak at the event and was able to exchange details with outstanding 3rd year University Students.
