Sixth Form

Dear Prospective Sixth Form Student,

It is our pleasure to welcome you to Harrow High Sixth Form. Our aim is simple; for every child to achieve their academic potential, and to develop a wider skills set so that they can pursue a career of their choice, and make a valid and sustained contribution to their community. We are very proud that in 2014, Ofsted Inspectors described “Achievement at both A and AS level, as good, and success rates in work-related courses as outstanding.”

We are a relatively small sixth form, which allows class sizes to be small and for students to be known very well by their teachers and tutors, which makes for a supportive and warm atmosphere. All students are taught in specialist modern Sixth Form classrooms in a purpose built block, by a team of highly skilled, and enthusiastic subject specialists. Ofsted commented “High-quality teaching was seen in a number of sixth-form lessons.”

Specialist Sixth Form Tutors and a Sixth Form Learning Mentor, develop students academic and wider skills so that they can make successful applications to the most selective undergraduate courses. Ofsted who have said that “The progress of sixth-form students is carefully monitored and support is quickly and effectively put in place for anyone who is underachieving and the resulting targeted work with individual students is having a positive impact and results are set to rise further.”

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, in the meantime, we wish you all the best in your vital GCSE year, and look forward to welcoming you to our Sixth Form in September 2017.

Paul Gamble – Headteacher

Kevin Patel – Assistant Headteacher (Sixth Form)
