Harrow High School Library is a wonderful resource that will be key to your child’s success with us. The library is full of classic and modern texts, newspapers, magazines, CDs and DVDs that will support learning in all subjects. In addition, learners will have one timetabled reading lesson every two weeks with their English teacher to develop a love of reading and we promote a daily reading session. Learners will be invited to attend author visits as well as a wide range of creative writing opportunities.
The library is open from 8.15am to 5:30pm every day.
How to join the Library
Learners automatically become members of the library once they are enrolled at school. Learners in Year 7 and 8 may borrow 2 books at a time, and in Year 9, 3 books. Year 10 and 11, 4 books. The sixth form may have 6 books at a time. If a library book is lost the learner must pay for a replacement.
Literacy at Harrow High School
Last year a very successful reading club was organised after school in the school library with the help of a number of volunteers. This greatly benefited our learners, some of whom did not have English as a first language. If you are able to help with this venture and are free between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on a Monday and Wednesday we would love to hear from you.
For further information please either enquire at reception or email our Librarian Mrs K Eidel : firstname.lastname@example.org.
